Lip Blush
The Lip Blush treatment is a semi-permanent procedure that enhances your natural lip color with a soft, sheer tint. It adds subtle definition to your lips, helping to correct asymmetry and softly defines the lip line while giving a fuller, more polished appearance. This is a two-appointment process, with a follow-up recommended 4-12 weeks after the initial session to assess healing and refine the results as needed.
Ideal For
- Clients looking to enhance their natural lip color with a soft, subtle tint.
- Those who want to softly contour their lip line or correct minor asymmetry.
- Individuals seeking a fuller, more polished lip appearance without the use of fillers or daily makeup.
Treatment Process
Consultation:
We begin with a consultation to discuss your desired lip color and shape. During this stage, we assess your natural lip color and symmetry, choose a custom-blended pigment that best enhances your natural look and perform lip mapping.
Pigment Application:
The pigment is applied using a soft shading technique, brushing a sheer layer of color across the lips. The process typically takes 1.5 hours, and a topical anesthetic is applied to ensure your comfort throughout the procedure.
Aftercare:
An aftercare kit will be provided that includes tools needed to ensure a perfect healed result.
Right after the first session, the color will soften over the next few days as your lips heal. A healing period of 4-7 days is normal, during which your lips may experience light peeling.
Re-touch Appointment:
A second session is scheduled 4-12 weeks after the initial treatment. This re-touch allows us to assess the healed pigment and make any necessary refinements to ensure a smooth, long-lasting result.
What to Expect After Lip Blush
Healing Process:
- Day 1: Lips will appear slightly brighter immediately after the treatment. Some minimal swelling is normal, this will subside within 4-6 hours post-treatment. Apply the Brau Arnica Balm provided in your aftercare kit to keep your lip hydrated and promote healing.
- Days 5-7: Expect light flaking and peeling as the skin heals. Avoid picking or peeling the lips to prevent uneven healing.
- Days 8-14: The color may fade by up to 50% and appear softer as the lips continue to heal.
- Days 15-30: Lips settle into their final color, appearing more even and natural.
- Re-touch Time (4-12 weeks): A re-touch session perfects the color and refines any areas that may have healed unevenly.
Long-Term Care Tips:
- Apply sunscreen to your lips to prevent fading and maintain the color once healed.
- Avoid exfoliants and harsh chemicals on your lips to preserve the pigment.
- Inform your esthetician or dermatologist about your lip blush treatment before any facial treatments or procedures.
- Schedule color re-boosts every 12-18 months to refresh the color and shape in place.
Essential Details:
If you have any history of cold sores, or if you’re using products that may affect your skin’s healing, let us know before your appointment. Mild swelling or tenderness is normal right after the treatment and should subside within a few hours. Light scabbing or peeling may occur as the lips heal, we provide you with an aftercare lip balm to keep your lips hydrated.
